Nigerien Government Awards Medals of Honor to IOWD.

Health Minister, Ari Ibrahim, presented the Medal of Honor to Barbara Margolies, Ira Margolies and Dr. Clifford Wheeless in a formal ceremony at the Ministry of Health Offices. The Medals were awarded to IOWD Directors in recognition of the work that the American volunteer surgeons have performed for the women of Niger.

Immediately following the ceremony, IOWD Directors met with President Tandja, who offered his continued support for our fistula program and his gratitude for the generous amount of supplies and medicines that IOWD has contributed to the National Hospital.

It was a tremendous honor to have received these awards! IOWD wishes to express their sincere thanks for the incredible cooperation that the Government of Niger has given to us.
